You.

Of all the things that I want..
The most I cherish is you ..

Of all the people I yearn to be with ..
The most I miss is you ..

Of all the things I want to talk about ..
Is all with you ..

Of all things I want to hear ..
Is to what you want to say ..

But when I am with you ..
You cast me away ..

When I am with you ..
You fear I will go away ..while I am still holding on to you.

When I talk to you ..
You listen things which I never said or meant ..

When you talk to me ..
You say things to hurt me ..

How many more signs do I need to give you?
How long do I need to wait for you?
How long will it take for you to understand?
How long … will I keeping missing you?
How long …?
Long till … I cast myself away ..

A voice

I hear it coming from a distance ..
what is that noise?

soft .. yet brittle .. at times clear
sometimes unclear .. whose is that voice?

i sharpen my ear to follow the voice..
but then get distracted ..

I again move towards it but it vanishes
why am i so attracted ..

if only it was calm .. i could hear it better
if only was clear .. i could see it better
if only it had a fragrance.. i could smell it better ..
if only it was near.. i could feel better

but its something that i cant see
some thing i cant feel
i cant understand what it is
i cant follow it either ..

can some one help me find that voice?
can some one be my friend in this adventure?

then i sat down
tired of following ..
tired of reaching no where
tired of looking for it here and there

i closed my eyes ..
i don't know if i was sleeping
i don't know if i was dreaming
but now i could hear it ..

now it was clear ..
now it had a meaning ..
it said what are you looking for?
it said whom are you seeking?

it said what you want is in you
it said what i seek is nothing but you..
it was me ..
It was i who was calling ..

amazing .. how i never knew this..

It rained last night ..

It rained last night ..
It was dark .. It was stark ..

It was cold .. It was chilly ..
I tried holding on to my blanket ..
I tried to get warm ..
But it kept getting colder and wet
… the time had frozen so was I.

I tried lighting a candle
To ward off the dark ..
But the cold wind would blow it off
Making it even more dark ..

I kept trying .. but the matchstick got over ..
The dark clouds would hover ..

I kept looking for a warm place ..
But in the darkness I kept stumbling ..
I hurt myself .. I fell down ..

I tried walking across the room .. to look for a hand ..
That I can hold … and feel the warmth ..

I kept walking in the room .. spreading both my arm ..
Looking for arms, in whose comfort I could feel warm …

But I kept stumbling and kept hurting myself ..

I tried calling .. but no one would hear ..
I called harder .. but my echo I could hear ..

So .. I just sat there .. waiting for the rain to go…
I held on to my blanket .. with a tight grip
As that was the only thing that gave me warmth ..

I listened to the rain pouring ..
Each drop .. making a sound .. saying something to me ..
I listened to wind .. each time some one blowing a whistle ..
I sat there whole night .. waiting for the rain to pour ..
And go .. I waited there silently .. for dawn to come ..

But it would keep pouring and become colder …

It rained last night ..
It rained outside .. but..
I felt it inside ..

Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus - You'll always find your way back home

A simple and sweet song - yes I too hate Monday mornings. Another of my favorites.

You wake up, it's raining and it's monday
Looks like one of those rough days
Time's up, you're late again, so get out the door
Sometimes you feel like running
Find a whole new life and jump in
Let go, get up and hit the dance floor
But when the lights go down it's the ending of the show
And you're feeling like you got nowhere to go
Don't you know

You can change your hair and you can change your clothes
You can change your mind, that's just the way it goes
You can say goodbye, you can say hello
But you'll always find your way back home
You can change your style, you can change your jeans
You can learn to fly and you can chase your dreams
You can laugh and cry but everybody knows
You'll always find your way back home

Your best friends, your little hometown
Are waiting up wherever you go now
You know you can always turn around
Cos this world, it's big and it's crazy
And this girl is thinking that maybe
This life is what some people dream about
Cause when I'm feeling down and I am all alone
I've always got a place where I can go
Cause I know

You can change your hair and you can change your clothes
You can change your mind, that's just the way it goes
You can say goodbye, you can say hello
But you'll always find your way back home
You can change your style, you can change your jeans
You can learn to fly and you can chase your dreams
You can laugh and cry but everybody knows
You'll always find your way back home

Where they know exactly who you are
Back home where the real you is the superstar
Back home, you know it's never too far away
Let me hear you say

You can change your hair and you can change your clothes
You can change your mind, that's just the way it goes
You can say goodbye, you can say hello
But you'll always find your way back home
You can change your hair and you can change your clothes
You can change your mind, that's just the way it goes
You can say goodbye, you can say hello
But you'll always find your way back home
You can change your style, you can change your jeans
You can learn to fly and you can chase your dreams
You can laugh and cry but everybody knows
You'll always find your way back home
You'll always find your way back home
You'll always find your way back home
You'll always find your way back home
You'll always find your way back home
You'll always find your way back home
You'll always find your way back home

Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)

Originally written as a news article called "Wear Sunscreen" by Mary Schmich, a columnist in Chicago Tribune, this was made into a song "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" by Baz Luhrmann, an Australian Film Director for his Album "Something for Everybody" in 1998. I happened to listen to this while I was driving and couldn't help but notice the power in the singer's voice and simplicity with which some very important facts about life are said in the song. You must listen to this song, am sure it would become your favorite too.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be
it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by
scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering
experience…I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you
imagine.

Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing
bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that
never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm
on some idle Tuesday.

Do one thing everyday that scares you

Sing

Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with
people who are reckless with yours.

Floss

Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes
you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with
yourself.

Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you
succeed in doing this, tell me how.

Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.

Stretch

Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your
life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they
wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
olds I know still don’t.

Get plenty of calcium.

Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.

Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe
you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky
chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t
congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your
choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s. Enjoy your body,
use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people
think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever
own..

Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.

Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.

Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.

Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for
good.

Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the
people most likely to stick with you in the future.

Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you
should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and
lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you
knew when you were young.

Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live
in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.

Travel.

Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will
philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize
that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were
noble and children respected their elders.

Respect your elders.

Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund,
maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one
might run out.

Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will
look 85.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who
supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of
fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the
ugly parts and recycling it for more than
it’s worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen…

When is it WOW to take the VOWs?

Hi all - since all of you are on the other side of the court - may b u can tell me -
I have 2 important questions to ask you :-
1) When is the right age for a girl to get married?
2) What is the right age difference between the Man and the Woman that can make a marriage workable?

If you ask me - I always believed that marriage has got nothing to do with age - when it happens, it just.. does - u have to be mentally and emotionally prepared to get married - to realize that u r finally ready to take up that additional responsibility - to be someone's wife - daughter in law and finally soon, a mother - but ALAS! Due to several social, economical, emotional and paternal, maternal, hormonal pressure there are certain cut-offs or expiry dates for a girl to get married. I myself is 27 now and many of my uncles and aunties tell me that OMG it is too late ... by now you should have been raising your 2nd child .. !!! .. hehehe my Q is what do I do with the child in me which is still jumping with all the life's excitement .. anyways ... I once read an article in TOI which defined 28 as the best year for a woman to get married - this was the result of a survey which said that 28 is the most satisfying year in a woman's life - she has reached at the peak of her career and is content with it - she is looking more towards settling down now, since she has accomplished most of her aspirations - also if she is already in a relationship, the relationship has reached a stability - also 28 is a year when a woman is more confident - more sure of herself - she is more aware of what she wants out of life and is geared to looking forward to it - I too somehow agree with this survey - cos this is exactly how I feel.

Regarding the 2nd Q - I would say anywhere between 1-5 years. As per today's day and age where women are working and providing for herself, the mind and body of the 2 ppl should be as similar as possible - I think this age difference brings in a sense of friendship in the marriage - but as someone has said out of experience - love knows no age, no money, no boundaries etc etc - some philosophy - but again ALAS!!!! - in my community or rather in kerala gals are married off to guys 7-10 yrs older to them - WEIRD - but true - this is normal and socially very acceptable - :(

But again - as I said - since I am the least experienced one in this matter - I would want your advice, guidance, experience, thoughts, philosophies etc.. - What do you think should be the best age for the Woman to get married and to how much older a man?
